Programs and Singers needed for 2015 Texoma YAP Auditions!

Greetings Texoma NATS Members,

This is an IMPORTANT REMINDER about an exciting opportunity for your students and the Young Artist Programs with which you may be affiliated. On Wednesday, November 11, 2015, in conjunction with our annual Texoma Region Conference and Student Auditions, we will be hosting our Second Annual Young Artist Program Auditions. These auditions will give students of current Texoma region NATS members the opportunity to audition for multiple summer Young Artist Programs at the same time for one low fee—$20. Last year, fourteen Young Artist Programs from the U.S., the U.K., Austria, and Italy participated and 67 singers registered to audition. This level of participation gave programs access to many more potential singers than they might otherwise have, and it allowed the singers to maximize their exposure to multiple programs in a financially smart way.

Information regarding singer registration and audition information is available at www.texomanats.org under the Regional Conference tab at the top. At this time, please let this announcement serve as an invitation to any Young Artist Program with which you are associated (i.e. teach, coach, administrate, etc.) and to any of your students who would like to participate this fall. Please note Audition Fee* below.

If you and the program you are associated with would like to participate, PLEASE REPLY to diana.allan@utsa.edu by September 15, 2015.

  • Audition Date: Wednesday, November 11, 2015
  • Location: Oklahoma City University Wanda L. Bass School of Music
  • Audition Fee*: Programs will waive any regularly charged audition/registration fees for this event. However, programs reserve the right to charge an “application fee” to any singer to whom they issue an invitation. Students will pay a nominal registration fee of $20 to offset logistical expenses and accompanist fees.
  • Audition Type: All program representatives (one per program in the audition room) will be in a collective audition.
  • Repertoire: 2 operatic arias and 1 art song (3 different languages)
  • Time Limit: To be determined

Last year, program and student participants alike were very positive about their experiences. I think you will find this opportunity one that will benefit you and your summer program and/or your students. Please respond quickly, as we may be limited by space in the rooms we secure for the auditions.

Sincerely,

Diana Allan
